In addition to all the visits of the tourist sights, the Hikmat Learning Tour of Iran will include two informative workshops. These lectures are designed to provide participants with the practical knowledge that is required to understand contemporary Iran in terms of culture, politics, art, history, religion, etc.

Dr. Morteza Rezazadeh

Founder and president of Hikmat International Institute will lead this learning tour. As a graduate of the Islamic Seminaries of Qom and Hartford Seminary in the United States, he is an expert in Religions; mainly Islamic and Shiite Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations. As a professor of Islamic theology and jurisprudence, he is ideally equipped to introduce foreigners to the culture and religion of Iran.

The former director of Eastern Mennonite University’s Center for Interfaith Engagement. Martin joined EMU from the American Friends Service Committee and a position as the Quaker International Affairs Representative for Iran, building connections between Iranian institutions and the United States. Dr. Harry Huebner

Professor Emeritus of Philosophy and Theology at Canadian Mennonite University, in Winnipeg, Canada. He also serves as Director of International and Inter-Faith Theological Initiatives at CMU. He has been a participating member of the Mennonite-Shi’a dialogue since 2005. He has taught intensive courses in Christian ethics and theology at the International Institute of Islamic Studies. Optional Extensions

There are two optional extensions for this tour that are explained in the yellow and green boxes below. You can choose if you want to join the extensions or not on the online registration form.

Optional Extension 1:

Four-Day Trip to Iraq

First extension will be a four-day trip to Iraq to visit Baghdad, Najaf and Karbala. The dates of the Iraq extension will be from April 15-19, 2024.

Fees for the Iraq Extension:
• Single room: 1000 USD
• Double room: 800 USD

Note
: You can buy your international flight from Najaf to Mashhad for yourself but if you want us to buy the direct flight for you, then an additional $190 per person will be added to your costs.

Optional Extension 2:

Three-Day Trip to Khorasan

 

The second optional extension will be three days in the Khorasan province of Iran from April 19-21, 2024, to visit the holy city of Mashhad as well as Tus and Neyshabur.

 

Fees for the Khorasan Extension:
• Single room: 490 USD
• Double room: 390 USD
The fee includes domestic flight from Mashhad to Shiraz.
